Overly Attached Girlfriend

Overly Attached Girlfriend meme is an advice animal macro image depicting scenarios that resemble characteristics of a clingy girlfriend. The meme was born through a video posted on Youtube with a young girl changing the lyrics from a popular Justin Bieber song "boyfriend" in order to win a sing-off contest.



The following day, the image was posted to Reddit and had hundreds of comments within hours. Although it came under scrutiny for being closely related to another meme dubbed "Crazy Girlfriend Praying Mantis" in which similar captions could be attributed.

The girl behind the meme is a 20-year old named Laina Walker. Within a couple days her Twitter account (@laina622) had 7,800 new followers and 16,500 likes on Facebook.

She then took it upon herself to post another video to youtube, a parody of the hit "Call me Maybe".

































Bad Luck Brian

The Bad luck Brian meme is an image macro series featuring a young male with  blonde hair, braces, and a plaid sweater appearing to be taking a school photo. The captions accompanying the meme tend to depict embarassing and awful situations. This meme appeared on Quick meme on January 23, 2012 , which subsequently got posted to Reddit and its first variation was:












This, however was not the one to send it viral. Later that day, another user had manipulated the template to have it say:












It wasn't until May 8 that Bad luck Brian's identity was revealed through a thread on Reddit. With the screenname "Coyotecarl", Bad luck Brian revealed that his name is actually Kyle. He explained that the photo was taken for his seventh grade picture, and that his principle made him take the photo over again because he thought that Kyle was making the face on purpose.






























Ridiculously Photogenic Guy


Ridiculously photogenic guy meme displays a man named Zeddie Little, smiling at the camera while running in a race (2012 Cooper River Bridge Run. The photographer Will King, shot the picture in March 2012 and uploaded photos of the race on his Flickr and Facebook. This is when his friend deemed him "Mr. ridiculously photogenic guy", and went viral on reddit when it was posted as "my friend calls him Mr. ridiculously photogenic guy".


Zeddie appeared on Good Morning America around a month after the picture went viral.

Shut up and take my money!

Yet another meme featuring the character Fry from the animated cartoon series Futurama.  The "shut up and take my money" is a catchphrase used to illustrate the enthusiastic approval towards either a product or idea, usually used towards products.

The show aired an episode called "Attack of the killer app" where Fry attempts to buy an "eyephone" (parody of Apple's Iphone). The cashier warns Fry about issues with reception and battery life, where he proceeds to yell "shut up and take my money!"

If anyone has ever taken a night class at college have probably had a few older adults in the class with you. This meme "Senior Freshman" is a picture of elderly woman engaged in classroom discussion. The person in the picture is a woman named Nola Ochs, a world record holder for oldest college graduate at the age of 95. The overlaying text would usually describe something that would go on in a classroom and the punchline ending with a stereotypes of the elderly.
